And Daiquiris and Margaritas Later

I was enjoying daiquiris and margaritas at the poolside bar, with the half of my body under the water, chatting away with other hotel guests under the soft sunrays. I was thinking that the percentage of alcohol in the drinks was very low, because I did not taste any liquor in it.

And two daiquiris and another two margaritas later, I swam around the swimming pool twice. I got out of the water and grabbed my belongings having decided to go back to my room.

Then, BOOM! All of a sudden my alcohol hit me right then and there. I thought the smooth surface of the hotel’s lobby floor had gone rough. I was sober in my head, but obviously no one believed me saying that I was just fine.

A nice couple held me from both sides and started to walk with me toward the elevator hall. On the way, I swayed over to the lady and, “Woah, woah…,” they uttered by surprise. A second later, I was picked up by the gentleman and carried into my room, and thrown onto the bed, I felt a nice bounce. I fell asleep right after and did not care about anything till I woke up the next morning.

I am embarrassed to no end, just thinking about it. I am glad I flew back home the day after the incident. I have no face to show to the nicest couple who helped me. So I asked the receptionist to leave a message for me. “Thanks.”

We have been rained on and off since PearTree’s arrival and not many people have been on the beach or around the swimming pools. PearTree sees many people are lounging around, surfing on the Internet, sipping Margaritas, having a good time despite the weather.
